This almost encyclopedic volume explores the presence of the Aragonese jota in cinema from the beginnings of silent film to the present day, covering the first twenty-five years of the twenty-first century. The work brings together a wide range of graphic and audio materials documenting the presence and evolution of this musical expression within the cinematic sphere. Furthermore, its publication represents a significant contribution to the documentation, dissemination, and safeguarding of the Aragonese jota in the context of its candidacy for inscription on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, announced by the Spanish Ministry of Culture on 2 April 2024.
